Hamilton, Bermuda - The Couples for Christ (CFC) Bermuda Community held its Christmas Party at the St. Theresa Cathedral Hall on December 6, 2009. Friends and relatives who attended the event were warmly welcomed by the members of the community. On this occasion, the theme was "Christmas: Celebrating the Greatest Gift of Salvation.”
The celebration began with an opening prayer by the CFC Spiritual Director, Fr. Joe Palubeski, and was followed by a delectable dinner. The CFC Band played some songs to entertain everyone. This year's Santa Claus, Brother Jarsen de Leon, was introduced by the program hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Ernst and Mel Dangl. Santa took part in the picture taking of those who joined the exchanging of gifts. He also provided Christmas presents to the little kids.
After dinner, everyone excitedly witnessed the Christmas presentations which were turned into a friendly competition this time. The Handmaids of the Lord (HOLD) performed first with a short play of the lovely and beautiful Christmas characters. They won second place in the competition. Then, the Couples for Christ performed a Broadway-type dance drama which has drawn the biggest impact from the audience and made them win first place. The Singles for Christ (SFC) - Women showed their best dance moves through a modern dance and won fourth place. The last performers who won third place were the Singles for Christ – Men, and the Servants of the Lord who shared their talents by singing Christmas carols in rock and roll.
As part of the CFC community's mission to share, a love offering collected for the St Theresa Parish was donated and handed to Fr. Joe. Also, an anonymous Santa gave away gift certificates. Awards were also given by Brothers Jay Autor and Jun Gundran to Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Dangl as the Most “Sweet and Loving” Couple of the year; Sister Arlene Alejandrino as HOLD’s Most Fabulous Woman of the Year; Sister Cathy Visaya as SFC’s Most Beautiful for the Lord; and, Brother Louie Cuarentas as SFC's Hunk for the Lord. These Community awards were voted by CFC Bermuda members as a way of having fun in the spirit of friendship and love.
The event successfully ended with a praise fest led by the ever dynamic Brother George Ferreira. Everyone imparted a special moment for our Savior and cheerfully wished each other a Blessed Merry Christmas.Add your main content here - text, photos, videos, addons, whatever you want!
